Texas LLC cost: the state fees over the first 3 years

Updated 17 Oct 2026 · LLCTally

Facts checked on

Filing yourself, a Texas LLC costs 300 dollars in state fees over its first three years: the fee for the certificate of formation [107]. Texas charges no fee for a yearly report to the Secretary of State. It has a franchise tax instead, which this site names but does not compute.

The state fees

Over three years

Formation is the only fixed state fee we count, so the total is 300 dollars whatever the formation date. Whether an LLC owes franchise tax is set by the Comptroller’s rules, which include the no tax due threshold; the calculator does not compute it. The Comptroller’s page explains the thresholds and the reports [108].

Through a formation service the total grows by the service’s package and, if you use it, its registered agent. The calculator for Texas adds them for each service whose prices we could read. The fees of the other states are in the table of filing fees.

This page reports the fees the state publishes. It is not legal or tax advice.
